Cony boys track takes second while the girls win again remaining undefeated

in Augusta/Cony High School/Cony Sports/East Side

In their first home meet of the season the Cony track & field team is looking strong.

On the boys side Brunswick was strongest on the day finishing in first. The Rams had a well balanced day scoring points in 13 individual events and in all three relay events.

The boys were led by a strong showing from Simon Mccormick who finished 1st in the triple jump and 2nd in the 100 meter, 200 meter and the long jump. Other notable contributors were Iain McCollett and Caleb Richardson. McCollett  finished 2nd in the 110 & 300 meter hurdles and 5th in the triple jump while Richardson took 1st in the 3200 meter, 3rd in the 800 meter and was on the 4×800 team that finished 3rd.

On the girls side Cony was once again anchored by strong performances by sisters Anna & Julia Reny. Julia took 1st in the 100 & 400 meter dash and 2nd in the javelin while Anna finished 1st in the 100 & 300 meter hurdles and the 200 meter dash.

Both sisters were on the winning 4×4 relay team.

The girls again had a very well balanced showing with 17 other members scoring points in every event except pole vault.
